was the founder of today's International Church of the Foursquare
Gospel. Aimee was a pioneer in the face of opposition and heartache, the list of the trials she faced reads similar to the apostle Paul's, he was shipwrecked, etc. She was kidnapped, criticized, betrayed even by her family, yet Aimee persevered to demonstrate God's power and faithfulness. Her ministry, although the public made her controversial, she stood on God's word and used creativity and zeal to win many souls to Christ. Her success should be measured not only the many souls saved during her meetings, also by the vibrant ministry which she left behind. Although she has gone onto glory, she is still producing the 100 fold fruit of Mark 4:20, "But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit, some thirtyfold, some and some a hundred." Aimee Semple McPherson is most definitely God's woman of power! |
