Reverend Billy Graham

What a powerful man of God who has stood the test of time, and is still standing. One day many years back while watching TV with my sister. We were watching American Band Stand, dancing around the front room thinking we were slick. I was about 6 or 7 years old my sister was maybe 9 years old, I am not really sure of the exact age.

Trying to drown out the fighting of my stepfather and mother. Their fighting was like clock work they were always fighting.

Trying to keep the volume of the music as loud as possible, to cover the war zone in our home. My sister changed the channel during a commercial. I remember I said, "Wait!" There on the TV screen, I was looking at a stadium filled with what seemed like millions of people, to a small girl of six or seven. I remember looking at all those people saying, "Look at all those people." Then Reverend Billy Graham was speaking. I do not remember all I said that day; I just remember he was calling people forward asking them if they knew Jesus! Not being raised in church I was surprised to see so many people get up and walk forward.

When my sister went to change the TV back. I said, "Wait!" I watched the people as they were crying. I felt something that day, I wanted to step into the TV and walk forward. I can just vaguely remember under my breath saying that prayer to receive Jesus. Not wanting to be embarrassed I told no one. Well, needless to say we changed the channel back and started where we left off, dancing in the front room with American Band Stand.

Not really understanding that little prayer years back, the Lord started the work in my life. I believe the Lord kept me from what could have possibly been death. God wanting so badly to share His love, God waiting patiently for the seed of Salvation to grow, and become strong in the Lord. Many years passed, I really did not know how to serve the Lord. As I grew my life was filled with emptiness, drinking out of the world's cup of destruction. Bringing nothing but hurt and heartache! A cup that only brings damnation to the souls of many!

Later on in my life, in the middle of the night I cried out to God, then the following day at a little corner church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, I received Jesus Christ once again. For the first time, I really began to understand what Jesus was all about. It was not until fifteen years after my experience at the little church in Colorado, the Holy Spirit brought back to my remembrance the prayer said many, many, years back in the front room watching American Band Stand with Dick Clark. That little prayer to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior was just the beginning of the seed planted by Reverend Billy Graham.

After I gave my heart to the Lord I started to really understand the power of prayer, for ten years the Holy Spirit stirred my heart to pray for this man named Billy Graham. Ten years, everyday I prayed for this powerful man. Sometimes the Holy Spirit would wake me up and stir my heart, in an urgency to pray for him. I did not know where he was preaching, or what was going on in his life. He does not know me, I am no one famous but I felt I was there on all his crusades. I would just pray when the Holy Spirit compelled me to. Sometimes it would be all night praying, some times just a quick prayer. Never really understanding why I had such a love of the Lord for this man.

When I heard he was sick, I remember weeping for hours; it was as if I knew him personally. I do in a way, I prayed Lord one day I would be honored to meet this man in person, if it were your will. But my friend one day I will meet him!

Heaven is our destiny, so if I do not see him here on earth, I will see him on the other side. Now I pray, Lord help me to be as faithful with this calling as your servant Billy Graham is, what a great example!

He is a MIGHTY MAN OF GOD!

Not fallen to the things of this world! No compromise for the mighty PROPHET! I pray the Lord greatly reward him for all those years of labor!

Truly his reward is GREAT IN HEAVEN!
