Healing

Healing is for today! Although some say, healings are not of today, we can read in Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever" Throughout my ministry, I have seen many people healed of all kinds of illnesses. When we understand about the cross of Calvary and when we read Isaiah 53:3-5, "He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." we can also see in scripture, in the book of James 5:14"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." It takes faith to believe. Does that mean you will never get sick? Does that mean you will never suffer?

I have personally experienced God's miracle working power in my life as well as my children. My son was miraculously healed when he had a bicycle accident and his head was cracked, his skull was filling up with blood. I was shocked to see as he was coming in and out of consciousness, I was reminded how his father had died, from a blow to the head. There my son was, in the same condition of his father. As I stood there in that emergency room surrounded by doctors, nurses, instruments, machines, needles, being bombarded on all sides, as the doctor told me, "We need to take an x-ray and we might have to go in for major brain surgery."

As they wheeled my son down the hall, he was only nine years old, my heart skipped a beat. I immediately went into the waiting room, closed the door and fell to my knees, that deep prayer of groaning, where words cannot be uttered. The Holy Spirit interceded on my behalf. No more than 15 minutes had gone by when I was weeping and crying on my knees, the Holy Spirit spoke clear to my heart. "I did not come to take away your son, but to give him life."

I stood up immediately and went to the area where they were bringing my son back. I could see the look in the doctor's eye, that look of fear, I could see why, as my son's head continually swelled because of the blood flow, my son's face was almost unrecognizable. I looked at the doctor eye-to-eye, as he told me, "We are going to have to go in and cut a hole in his head." I said, "Wait, I another x-ray." I laid my hands on him and began to pray for my son. I commanded the blood flow to cease and the crack to be healed. I then turned to the doctor, "Please take another x-ray!" The doctor was somewhat hesistant as we looked eye-to-eye, tears were in my eyes, I said once more, "I want another x-ray!"

As they rolled my son down the hall once again to take x-rays, the Holy Spirit had confirmed my prayer and faith. When the doctor returned, sure enough, the blood had stopped flowing and you could barely see the crack in my son's skull on the second x-ray. Who said, "Miracles are not of today!" Only those who walk in unbelief! That is only one miracle, I could share thousands of miracles with you, as a matter of fact, I think I'm going to put them all in a book.

Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Matthew 4:24 "Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them."
Acts 14:9This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed,"
Psalms 103:2-3 "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:who forgives all your iniquities,who heals all your diseases,"
Acts 9:34 "And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately."

While God's healing power is miraculous and supernatural, walking in complete health is practical as well. The Lord also gave us a plan for a healthy lifestyle. Without really understanding some sickness is brought on by poor choises in diet and exercise, God's plan for health is throughout the scriptures. We are all guilty of this shortcoming, eating junk food seems to be the norm in Christian fellowships. I am working on this in my own life. How? By changing the foods I eat, I have found myself over weight and without realizing it, we find ourselves trapped in this body with too many pounds.

I know better, I used to run 5 miles every weekend, I used to ride my bicycle 18 miles, four days a week. I also trained before for body building, so what happened? Well, you'll have to pick up my upcoming book called, "Turning It Around at 50, I'm Beautiful!"
