Mission America – Miracle - Day 11 Dateline, Thursday, June 4, 2009. Waking up at 5 a.m. with a perfect night’s rest, thanking God for Blessing Retreat and for Pastor Jay and Linda, what a gift from Heaven! I just wanted to cry, I couldn’t believe we were all in beautiful rooms and comfortable beds; as we step out by faith to do God’s work. Isn’t it amazing? The Spirit of the Lord is able to connect you with others, from another state that are filled with the Spirit, and it’s like you’ve known each other forever. At 7:30 a.m., I hear the call, “Girls, breakfast is ready.” And what a beautiful breakfast!! God is amazing!
Having breakfast and hurrying off, the girls had to pass out thousands of flyers; we all had last minute preparations. Jill and I were off to Home Depot, I had to engineer a way to hang our banner, “Experience the Power of God!” on the outside of the tent, while Kaweah was busy setting up the inside and hanging all of our small banners, including the US Flag for Mission America. Finishing up at the tent site, the wind picked up and started blowing hard against the tent, I began to pray! “Lord, please, stop the wind.” Jill and I headed over to the hospital; Linda’s mother who is 86 years old was taken to the hospital. Linda and Pastor Jay had been praying for her for 30 years, I felt like the Lord spoke to my heart, “Go close the deal!” Finding her room there was this beautiful, frail, silver-haired woman lying in the hospital bed. We talked and got to know each other for about 35 minutes; then I felt it was now time. I asked her if I could pray for her healing. I shared about Jesus, how He loved her, with both of her hands; she gripped my hand; with tears in her eyes, she repeated the sinner’s prayer with such sincerity, I felt God’s presence come in the room, she was gloriously saved, Praise God! I headed back to Blessing Retreat and prayed for three hours for the opening night; excited and expecting God to do great things! In the meantime; Jill was directing the finishing touches for set-up. When she returned to the tent to set up the sound equipment; something was wrong. She tried everything she knew, the main speaker was not working. It was very time consuming; checking each cord trying desperately to trouble shoot the trouble in enough time to get dressed and get back to the tent on time. I was waiting for their return; they were my ride. When they did not come by 6:30 p.m., I knew something was wrong; yet I had no phone reception to check on them. Finally, they came running through the door, to get dressed; I ironed their blouses for them and helped them get ready as fast as they could, we had 10 minutes to get to the tent. We were off! You know you are doing something right when the wind is howling like crazy, the sound breaks down, and you are running late. We walked into the tent and the worship had already started; there was a sweet presence of the Lord! Some people had arrived over an hour early; some came from the RV park church service on Sunday. The people were hungry for a touch from the Lord! I preached a message about how you cannot live in two worlds, and the Ten Virgins. Asking those who were true Christian to stand to their feet, many were still sitting down. Calling them forward to make a decision for Christ, they came to the altar. There was a spirit of repentance in the tent, praying for the people who came forward; I asked Pastor Jay and a few other people in the tent to help me pray for the people at the altar, we were all busy.
A precious lady named Kathy Stanton came forward to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit; she was a friend of Linda’s. The sweet presence of the Lord touched her and she began to speak in tongues, it was powerful! She really began to tear up, God was renewing and restoring a new walk in her; she had been sick for a long time, she is so precious. God really moved! People were healed, saved, and touched by the Holy Spirit. Our God is amazing, and thank you for those who prayed for the wind to stop, it stopped. Praise GOD! P.S. We forgot the camera the first night! Copyright Dr. Luauna Stines, June 2009 |
