Mission America – Miracle - Day 8 Dateline, Monday, June 1, 2009. Words alone cannot share what I am feeling deep inside of my heart right now! What a POWERFUL and wonderful God we serve! Loving and so thoughtful! We started the day at the campground, a little bit sore, yet I was warm when I slept. When I opened my tent window, I couldn’t resist taking this picture; Jill making sure we had our coffee first thing in the morning she keeps the little fire stoked. I decided we were going to stay in the tents at this campground for the rest of our time here in Prescott, we could do it! The girls job was to clean up; set the table with a nice table cloth for our meals; Beverly and I went to the coffee shop to set up our traveling office and upload reports to the website.
We walked in the and started setting up, a handsome young man about 24 years old, looked at our t-shirts; I felt compelled to instantly give him a tract, “Jesus is coming are you ready?” He started talking to me immediately, I felt the Lord stir my heart, and I began to prophesy to him. As I was prophesying over him, every hair on his arm and body was standing up. He started to weep; he said, “I can’t believe this, this is God! I got filled with the Holy Ghost four years ago and was praying all the time in the Spirit and the people at the church told me; to stop it, that I needed psychiatric help.” That made blood boil! I said, “Young man, God’s hand is on your life and God ordained this meeting here today. He started crying; he said, “I know that God called me to do something more.” He’s coming to the tent meeting with his wife. You never know who you are going to meet! It’s funny how that old familiar sound of an old Harley catches my ear. Glancing to the right, I see an old Harley, then I went back to work. We were busy making sure we could get everything uploaded and finished when this towering tall, distinguished looking gentleman with his bike gear; a grey beard, sunglasses; complete with jeans and worn jean jacket. He sits directly across from me, even though there were plenty of other places to sit. You know how you know somebody is watching your every move; I wanted to go up and say, take off your glasses; you’re inside! After about 20 minutes, I couldn’t handle it. I stood up and said, “Let me come over here and sit for a minute while she finishes up some work.” He looked at my t-shirt and said, “Don’t come over here preaching that junk to me.” He was quite rude, and I said, “Excuse me sir, what do you mean junk?” We engaged each other for about 15 minutes; I could tell he was a case, a bit feisty, but on the other hand. He met his match! I thought, “I’m not gonna let him, just have his way and speak his mind.” Putting my hand up, I said, “It’s my turn,” as he was ranting and raving against Christianity. I said, “By the way, what’s your name?” He said, “My name’s Hawk!” He said, “I believe like the Indians do.” I said, “As a matter a fact, I am full blooded Apache, I am an Indian. I’m talking about the great God, the Almighty God, the All Knowing, not talking about them little “g” gods.” I think I got his attention. He stared at me eye-to-eye and I stared right back through those sunglasses, I knew he was a special man. If I could get him out of his orneriness long enough to hear the truth; God just might make a preacher out of this man. Only to discover, he was a character actor, who played in many movies and TV programs; westerns he had his faithful coffee cup with pictures of him beside Grizzly Adams; Michael Landon; etc. Guess what? He’s coming to the tent meeting, too.
Monday the call came from the Pastor, YES! We got the lot! At the same time, we received a phone call, from a wonderful lady named Linda, and her husband Jay, they said they wanted to take us in, the day before her husband and a friend went driving to campgrounds to try to find us. The campground we were staying at, did not have phone reception, so we did not get their call on Sunday. Kaweah said we need to call this couple back. The same day we received news of the lot approval, we were asked to please come to their home. Well not knowing the area, we started our drive. As I looked around I knew we were in a pretty fancy area, looking at the homes; I would say million dollar plus homes, we kept driving.
Reaching the house, we were speechless; the home was right out of the Home & Garden Magazine; beautiful, white Victorian style, wrap porch, every area was right from a picture. Stepping out of the car, thinking, “Are you sure she knows we have dogs?” The door opened, and outside came an incredible woman. She welcomed us as if we were family; hugging us, and saying, “I have home made chocolate chip cookies, tea, and lemonade set out before I show you your rooms.” Walking into this beautiful white kitchen, with white tiled floors, waxed solid oak floors everywhere else, and EVERYTHING so neatly in order. Looking around I smiled, she loved antiques, and we had a similar liking for interior design. Sitting down at the table, her husband came in, what a sweet spirit, his long grey beard, and long gray curly hair down to the middle of his back. “There is something special about this man,” I thought. He sat, smiled, and asked about our mission. With a sweet gentle spirit, I felt like I was in the presence of Elijah. I felt by the Spirit this man had loved the Lord for a long time, and had been His servant. Later to discover he had been a pastor for over 30 years. What fellowship, sharing our Mission America, they were both touched and moved with the compassion for the lost souls of men and women.
How can I describe the welcome? NO words can correctly express the great kindness and generosity they showed all of us. They opened up not just their home, for the whole week of our meetings; they also served us breakfast every morning at 7:30 am. In order for me to describe to you the royal treatment, you must go online to their website: Click here for Blessing Retreat Website
This is a Five Star Bed & Breakfast, as you look around online; you will see the accommodations they have given us; I am in the Yellow Room, and the girls are in the beautiful Green Room. Do pray a super blessing on this couple. Did I forget to tell you Linda is a writer, her book is amazing, titled, “The Call To Love” by Linda Riley. It is a must read, she is walking in the Master’s love; what a true example of Jesus’ love. Do you think Jesus loves what we are doing? I think SO! He knew, whether cold, or hot, campground or not, we would be faithful to His Work! So our Jesus loved us so much, HE PREPARED the very best in Prescott! If you ever come through this area, this is the place you want to rent for the night, and bless this couple. I almost forgot to share with you; they also have a prayer room, and healing ROOMS for those who need just a touch from the Master.
